Mid-Week LiFE...
Welcome,
I was struck by a comment someone made in Sunday school about Peter not wanting Jesus to die. Peter had the best of human intentions when he told Jesus he would not let him die.
Yet, in that moment he didn't allow Peter or his good intentions keep him from his mission. IN fact, Jesus said to Peter, "Get behind me Satan!" That is not a gentle way of telling him that he doesn't get it. It was harsh, but Jesus didn't want to mix his words. He wanted to be clear that his mission was to come and serve people by being the ultimate sacrifice and not even the best of human intentions would stand in his way.
Put to death the best of your human intentions and pick up your cross and follow Jesus...
