March 11--Why did God make spiders?
We all have something that makes us squirm. For some it is an actual fear--heights, flying, possums... For others it is just that group of creepy crawly things with multiple appendages. Why did God make those things? why do we have to live a LiFE that has fear, suffering, and misfortune?
Here is a link to the exerpt I read in my brief (yet thought provoking) research on spiders:
As a class we looked at two pieces of scripture:
How did the disciples respond to another person's misfortune? How did Jesus respond? How do we respond? All very interesting questions to comment on...say right now on this BLOG!!
Todd wisely pointed out that both of these situations have a happy ending--the blind man sees, and the dead man lives. But what aboutin our lives when misfortune strikes. How do we respond to our own situations? Like the disciples? Like Jesus?

March 4 - Greg M. - How do I stay Motivated in LiFE
Welcome to LiFE...
Greg began class by talking about what motivates us as human beings. He listed several different things like: The Law/ Moral code, rewards & Punishment, fear, Love, etc..
Then he posed the question:
How do you stay motivated in your Christian life?
Greg then had us look at some verses on different ways God motivates us. I forget the references but here are the examples and you might be able to find the specific passages in Matthew:
1. Dividing the sheep & the goats. When I was hungry you did not feed me...In the end God will judge us.
2. Pick up your cross and follow me daily...
3. Where you treasure is your heart will also be...
There was a lot of discussion in the 3 small groups and not much as a whole group. I got to know a lot about some people in my group that I did not before. It was good.
